What is "Kirinite"?
Kirinite™ is a high-grade, specialty acrylic material with a much more “grippy”, textured feel than normal acrylic. It is more durable and resists warping, cracking and shrinking and can even be buffed to a high gloss finish. Due to the unique fabrication methods used, in certain styles, no two pieces can ever be exactly identical due to the “randomized” element to the patterning. In our case this means that each and every Helion Flip takes on its own individualized style.

Do I have to pay customs when ordering to my country?
Duty and customs fees are set between the government of your respective importing country and Canada. Backers are responsible for any duty and customs fees when ordering as Ronin Energetics has no control over the import laws of your country. Please keep this in mind when ordering from countries outside of Canada, we greatly appreciate your understanding regarding this issue.

Why do shipping costs vary to different parts of the world?
Shipping costs from Canada to various parts of the world and even within countries themselves can vary greatly for a number of reasons expressly determined by the shipping providers themselves(overall volumes, service availability, etc). In light of this, we still do our best to equalize the shipping discounts offered across the board regardless of country. We thank you for your understanding.

Is it legal in my country?
It is the responsibility of the purchaser to know and follow all of their regions federal and local laws pertaining to the shipment, receipt, use, and carry of a folding utility knife. Please consult the appropriate resources to find out the specifics of your local laws before ordering.
For those countries which may have issues with the shipping of tools similar to the Helion, (ie: AUS, UK & Europe) we can make special accommodations to ship the Helion without the utility blade on a case-by-case basis. As the Helion uses standard utility blades, they can be purchased separately and locally.

How do I pledge for multiple knives?
When backing a reward, on the screen where it asks for the ‘Pledge Amount’, manually input multiples of your reward level amount for however many units you would like to receive. ie) if a reward level is $50, pledge $100 to receive 2 units, $150 for 3, etc. The survey system at the conclusion of the campaign will automatically add the multiples to your order based on your pledge amount and allow you to customize them.

What is a "detent"?
A “detent” refers to the tension that must be overcome which normally holds a flip knife closed. Normally this is a physical mechanism however in the Helion Flip, the detent tension is contactless and purely from magnetic fields.

Is the Helion Flip a frame lock knife?
No, there is no frame-locking mechanism in the Helion Flip. Only the force of a magnetic field keeps the blade securely open with a moderate tension, there is no physical mechanism which locks the blade to the handle.

What is "G10"?
G10 or “Garolite” is a fiber composite that is 3x the tensile strength of steel at 5x less weight which is composed of tightly interwoven glass fibers and high strength epoxy compacted into a strong plate form. G10 is considered a premium knife handle material as it is waterproof, durable, lightweight and superior to grip. Ronin Energetics specializes in the CNC machining of G10 and other fiber composites.

Is the Helion Flip user-adjustable?
Yes, the opening friction of the Helion can be user-adjusted by swapping in a thinnner internal pivot shim (included) and then reassembling the knife. When done, the Helion will require 2-handed opening like a traditional friction folder as the user can manually set the desired opening and closing friction. Instructions for this process will be detailed in the “Updates” section of the campaign.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
